Cute Crochet Halloween Cat Pattern

Materials

  • 4-ply milk cotton yarn
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissor
  • Darning needle
  • Fiberfill stuffing

Abbreviations (U.S Term)

  • rnd = round
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in each st)
  • dec = decrease (2 sc together)
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain
  • fl = front loop
  • bl = back loop

  •  Approximately 6.1" / 15.5 cm tall

HEAD

In black yarn.

Rnd 1: Start 8 sc in a magic ring. [8]
Rnd 2: Inc in all 8 st. [16]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 8. [24]
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 8. [32]
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 6. [40]
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 8. [48]
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 5 st, inc in next st) x 8. [56]
 
Rnd 8-15: Sc in all 56 st. [56]
 
Attach safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11, leaving 7 stitches (count 6 holes) between them.
 
Start stuffing the head as you continue.
 
Rnd 16: (Sc in next 6 st, dec) x 7. [49]
Rnd 17: (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 7. [42]
Rnd 18: (Sc in next 4 st, dec) x 7. [35]
Rnd 19: (Sc in next 3 st, dec) x 7. [28]
Rnd 20: (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 7. [21]
 
Fasten off and weave in ends.

BODY

In black yarn.

Start stuffing the body as you continue.
 
Rnd 11: (Sc in next 6 st, dec) x 7. [49]
Rnd 12-14: Sc in all 49 st. [49]
 
Rnd 15: (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 7. [42]

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing the body to the head. 

Sew the body to the head. 

BASE BODY EDGING

With the bottom of the body facing outwards, join black yarn to the fl of rnd 8.
 
Rnd 1: Sc in each st. [56]
 
Note: The ‘right’ side of sc should be facing you.
 
Fasten off and weave in ends.

COLLAR

In orange yarn.
 
Ch 30. In the 3rd ch from hook, work 2 dc in each ch. [28]
 
Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
 
Place the collar on the neck and sew the ends of the collar together.

EAR x 2

In black yarn.
 
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: Sc in all 6 st. [6]
 
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 3. [9]
Rnd 4: Sc in all 9 st. [9]
 
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 2. [12]
Rnd 6: Sc in all 12 st. [12]
 
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 8. [15]
 
Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
 
Sew the ears to the head between rnd 5 to 9.

TAIL

In black yarn.
 
Rnd 1: Start 7 sc in a magic ring. [7]
Rnd 2-31: Sc in all 6 st. [7]
 
Rnd 32: Flatten the tail and sc both side together.
 
Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
 
Sew the tail to the body between rnd 9 to 11.
