Here's a free crochet pattern for all those looking to welcome some cute and cuddly bunny companions, like Moonie The Bunny, into their life.

Materials

  • Spotlight Marvel Yarn 8-ply: Color A - Off-white | Color B - Pink 
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • 6 mm oval safety eyes
  • 7 x 9 mm pink nose
  • Black embroidery thread
  • Toy stuffing (fiberfill)
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissor

  • sl st = slip stitch

Let's Get Started

HEAD

In off-white yarn (Color A).

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: Inc in all 6 st. [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 6. [18]
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 6. [24]
Rnd 5: Sc in all 24 st. [24]
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 6. [30]
Rnd 7: Sc in all 30 st. [30]
Rnd 8: (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 6. [36]
Rnd 9: Sc in all 36 st. [36]
Rnd 10: (Sc in next 5 st, inc in next st) x 6. [42]
Rnd 11-17: Sc in all 42 st. [42]

Attach safety eyes between rnd 10 and 11, leaving 16 stitches (count 15 holes) between them.

Attach safety nose between rnd 2 and 3 at the top center of the head.

Using black embroidery thread, sew a straight line between the nose. The line should sit within rnd 1 and 2.

Start stuffing the head with fiberfill.

Rnd 18: (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 6. [36]
Rnd 19: (Sc in next 4 st, dec) x 6. [30]
Rnd 20: (Sc in next 3 st, dec) x 6. [24]
Rnd 21: (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 6. [18]
Rnd 22: (Sc in next st, dec) x 6. [12]
Rnd 23: (Dec) x 6. [6]

Stuff the head firmly. Sl st in next st and fasten off. Leave a long yarn tail.

Thread the yarn tail through a needle and weave the needle through the front loop of each of the 6 st. Pull the yarn tail gently to close the hole. Insert the needle through the middle of the hole and pull through the head.

EAR x 2

In off-white yarn (Color A).

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: Sc in all 6 st. [6]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 3. [9]
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 3. [12]
Rnd 5: Sc in all 12 st. [12]
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 3. [15]
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 3. [18]
Rnd 8: Sc in all 18 st. [18]
Rnd 9: (Sc in next 5 st, inc in next st) x 3. [21]
Rnd 10-13: Sc in all 21 st. [21]
Rnd 14: (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 3. [18]
Rnd 15: (Sc in next 4 st, dec) x 3. [15]
Rnd 16: Sc in all 15 st. [15]

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
 
BODY

Start with off-white yarn  (Color A).

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: Inc in all 6 st. [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 6. [18]
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 6. [24]
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 6. [30]
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 6. [36]
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 5 st, inc in next st) x 6. [42]
Rnd 8-10: Sc in all 42 st. [42]

Change to pink yarn (Color B).

Rnd 11: Sc in all 42 st. [42]
Rnd 12 bl: Sc in all 42 st. [42]
Rnd 13Sc in all 42 st. [42]

Start stuffing the body with fiberfill.

Rnd 14: (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 6. [36]
Rnd 15-16: Sc in all 36 st. [36]
Rnd 17: (Sc in next 4 st, dec) x 6. [30]
Rnd 18: Sc in all 30 st. [30]
Rnd 19: (Sc in next 3 st, dec) x 6. [24]
Rnd 20: Sc in all 24 st. [24]
Rnd 21: (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 6. [18]

Stuff the body firmly. Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

DRESS EDGING

In pink yarn (Color b).

Join yarn to front loop of rnd 12, sc in all 42 st. [42]

Fasten off and weave in ends.

LEG x 2

In off-white yarn (Color A).

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]

Rnd 2: Inc in all 6 st. [12]
Rnd 3-4: Sc in all 12 st. [12]
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 3. [9]

Do not stuff.

Rnd 6: Flatten the ear and sc across both sides of the ear in each of the next 4 st to close the opening.

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

HAND x 2

In off-white yarn (Color A).

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: (Sc in next 2 st, inc) x 2. [8]
Rnd 3-7: Sc in all 12 st. [8]

Stuff gently.

Rnd 8: Flatten the ear and sc across both sides of the ear in each of the next 4 st to close the opening.

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

COLLAR

In pink yarn (Color b).

*Ch 3 at the beginning is counted as 1 dc.

Chain 26. In the 4th ch from hook, 3 dc in each ch. [70]

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

TAIL

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. [6]
Rnd 2: Inc in all 6 st. [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st ) x 6. [18]
Rnd 4-5: Sc in all 18 st. [18]
Rnd 6: (Sc in next st, dec) x 6. [12]
Rnd 7: (Dec) x 6. [6]

Stuff the tail firmly.

Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the ears to the top of the head.
  2. Sew the hands to the side of the body.
  3. Sew the legs to the bottom side of the body.
  4. Sew the tail to the back center of the body.
  5. Sew the collar around the neck.
