OoH-la! Here's to all our beautiful mothers!

Our Blossoming Heart amigurumi is inspired from the sowing and growing of a mother's love. Let's spread the love and joy for mothers through crochet. Here's our crochet pattern for all who are still looking for the perfect Mother's Day gift.


Materials

  • 4 Ply milk cotton
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Fibrefill stuffing
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissor

Abbreviations (U.S Term)

  • rnd = round
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase
  • dec = decrease
  • st / sts = stitch / stitches
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • blo = back loop
  • flo = front loop

Finished Size

  • Approximately 4.9” / 12.5 cm tall

Skill Level

  • Easy

Pattern Notes

  • Each round ends with a slip stitch to the beginning stitch. 
  • The Blossoming Heart is crocheted from top down, starting from the heart. 
  • The Pot Base is crocheted separately and joined to the bottom of the pot with slip stitch.
  • The leaves are crocheted separately and sew onto the stem.

Let's Get Started!

FLOWER POT BASE

In off-white yarn.

Rnd 1: Start 8 sc in a magic ring. Sl st. [8] 
Rnd 2: Ch 1. Inc in all 8 st. Sl st. [16] 
Rnd 3: Ch 1. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [24] 
Rnd 4: Ch 1. (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [32] 
Rnd 5: Ch 1. (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [40] 
Rnd 6: Ch 1. (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [48] 

Fasten off and weave in the end.

HEART

Start with pink yarn.

Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. Sl st. [6] 
Rnd 2: Ch 1. Inc in all 6 st. Sl st. [12] 

Rnd 3: Ch 1. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6. Sl st. [18] 
Rnd 4-5: Ch 1. Sc in all 18 st. Sl st. [18] 

Fasten off the 1st piece and leave a long yarn tail. Make a 2nd piece by repeating Rnd 1-5. Do not fasten off as we will continue to join the 2 pieces together.

Place the 2 pieces back to back. Sc 2 to join the 2 pieces together. Leave the remaining st unwork. Do not fasten off.

Rnd 6: Sc in next st. (Place a st marker on this st). This will be the 1st st of Rnd 6. Sc in next 15 st. Sc in next 16 st on the next side. Sl st. [32]

Rnd 7: Ch 1. Sc in all 32 st. Sl st. [32] 

Rnd 8: Ch 1. (Sc in next 6 st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [28]
Rnd 9: Ch 1. Sc in all 32 st. Sl st. [28] 

Rnd 10: Ch 1. (Sc in next 5 st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [24]
Rnd 11: Ch 1. (Sc in next 4 st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [20]
Rnd 12: Ch 1. (Sc in next 3 st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [16]
Rnd 13: Ch 1. (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [12]
Rnd 14: Ch 1. (Sc in next st, dec) x 4. Sl st. [8]

Stuff the heart firmly with fiberfill stuffing. 

Use the yarn tail from the 1st piece to sew close any holes near the joining.

Fasten off and weave in the end.

FLOWER STEM

Change to green yarn.

Rnd 15 FLO: Ch 1. Sc in all 8 st. Sl st. [8] 
Rnd 16-22: Ch 1. Sc in all 8 st. Sl st. [8]

SOIL

Change to brown yarn.

Rnd 24 FLO: Ch 1. Inc in all 8 st. Sl st. [16] 
Rnd 25: Ch 1. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [24] 
Rnd 26: Ch 1. (Sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [32] 
Rnd 27: Ch 1. (Sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [40] 
Rnd 28: Ch 1. (Sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) x 8. Sl st. [48]

FLOWER POT

Change to off-white yarn.

Rnd 29 BLO: Ch 1. Sc in all 48 st. Sl st. [48] 

Rnd 30-38: Ch 1. Sc in all 48 st. Sl st. [48] 

With the flower pot base facing outwards, place the pot base on the front. 

Rnd 39: Work 48 sl st to join the pot base and the pot body together.

Refer to image 3.

Start stuffing the flower pot firmly as you continue.

Fasten off and weave in the end.


FLOWER POT TOP EDGING

In off-white yarn.

Join yarn to FLO of rnd 29. 

Refer to image 4.

Rnd 1: Ch 1. Sc in all 48 st. Sl st. [48] 

Rnd 2: Ch 1. (Sc in next 2 st, dec) x 8. Sl st. [42] 
Rnd 3: Sl st in all 42 st. Sl st. [42]

Fasten off and weave in the end.


LEAVE x 2

In green yarn. 

Leave a long starting yarn tail for sewing.

Rnd 1: Ch 10. In 2nd ch from hook, sl st, sc, hdc, dc 4, hdc, (sc, ch 2, sc), hdc, dc 4, hdc, sc, sl st.

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Sew the leaves onto the flower stem between Rnd 15-16.


RIBBON

In pink yarn.  

Ch 90.

Fasten off. Tie the chain around the pot.
